Cardas Tonearm Rewire Kit
$29.75 – $39.50
This genuine Cardas Tonearm Rewire Kit comes with everything you need to rewire your tonearm. Contact us for custom lengths. When determining the length you need, make sure you account for the height of the tonearm pillar, as well as the route the wire must follow to your termination point. You want the wire to be lax, not pulled tight. The 12″ length is best for tonearms with a DIN plug. It is recommended that you order the 16″ length, or longer, for all other applications.
- Cardas 33×4 AWG Braided Tonearm Wire
- Cardas PCC cartridge clips
- Cardas Quad Eutectic Solder
- Shrinkflex® Polyolefin Heatshrink Tubing
This kit includes:
Cardas 33x4 AWG Braided Tonearm Wire | Ultra pure copper, Golden Ratio stranded litz wire. Ends are taped to prevent unraveling prior to installation.
Cardas PCC Cartridge Clips | set of four clips. Base metal is high copper content brass with gold plating. Fits most cartridge pins and tonearm pins (1mm and 1.2mm). Solderable end with flexible tip to grip pins. Terminate with solder.
Cardas Quad Eutectic Solder | includes 3” length of solder, more than enough to complete two rewire jobs. Cardas Quad-Eutectic rosin core solder contains tin, lead, silver, and copper. Melts at 365˚. This is the same solder used to terminate all Cardas cables.
Shrinkflex® Polyolefin Heatshrink Tubing | set of four pieces cut for tonearm wires, plus extra piece of black heatshrink you can cut in half to use at each end of the braided wire to prevent it from unwinding.
HOW TO USE:
Cardas manufactures Litz conductors. These conductors have an enamel coating on each strand that must be removed. This is best achieved using flux and a solder pot to tin the ends. If you haven't worked with Litz conductors, please view this video at Cardas Audio showing this technique. Failure to properly tin the wires will result in a conductor that does not perform correctly.
