Genuine Cardas Audio 23.5 AWG and 33 AWG Chassis Wire is multi-stranded copper, with a colored outer jacket. Cardas chassis wire uses the same ultra pure copper, Golden Ratio stranded litz wire found in all Cardas cables. It is often used inside of speakers and electronic devices, such as amplifiers. This listing is for wire with a black jacket typically used for ground connections. If you want to match the 33×4 Tonearm Rewire Kit, order the 33 AWG. Sold by the foot.

Cardas 23.5 AWG and 33 AWG Chassis Wire | Cardas chassis wire uses the same ultra pure copper, Golden Ratio stranded litz wire found in all Cardas cables. If you haven't worked with Litz conductors, see the "How to use" instructions below.

We are an official parts dealer, so feel free to contact us for custom orders, or to buy any Cardas Audio product you do not see in our store. At the moment, we are focusing on parts for turntable rebuilds.

HOW TO USE:

Cardas manufactures Litz conductors. These conductors have an enamel coating on each strand that must be removed. This is best achieved using flux and a solder pot to tin the ends. If you haven't worked with Litz conductors, please view this video at Cardas Audio showing this technique. Failure to properly tin the wires will result in a conductor that does not perform correctly.

If you don't know Hans Theessink, you are missing out. He is a Dutch guitarist, mandolinist, singer and songwriter. He performs roots and blues music, particularly Delta blues style, often with Terry Evans. I first heard him on the Burmester CD Sampler 2, with the song "Call Me". His signature bass-bartone voice really sounds good through the upper bass to midrange on any speaker system, and the overall experience of his music really pulls you in. This mornings first cd is his "Jedermann Remixed (The Soundtrack). Platter mat of choice around here is the Herbie's Audio Lab Way Excellent II that comes in a variety of thicknesses, diameters and spindle size. Stock is limited at the moment, so if you don't see what you want, contact Robert. What I like about these is that the material couples the LP to the platter. The benefit of this is two-fold. First, the disc will spin at the same speed as your platter. You want this. If your mat isn't "holding" the disc in place, you could be losing grip on a micro level, which will impact sound. Second, this is like memory foam that conforms to the record surface. Why is this important? Records are not perfectly flat, and the label area needs support to keep the disc flat ... and if you put a record clamp over the label, you need to make sure your mat doesn't cause the outer edges of the record to lift up a little.

I have used felt, cork, and cork/rubber for years, and every time I change, I hear some kind of difference. But there are some mats that sound "better" at first, simply because the sound is "different". The question is do you still like the sound a week later. Let's be honest in that we all hear a little different. And if you have tinitus, that impacts what you hear to some degree.

This is my opinion, based on my experience, and my ears. Your mileage may vary. Is this the best mat you can buy? Maybe not, depending on your set of variables. I just wanted to throw this out in the IG universe. And no, I don't make money off "promoting" other companies and products. I do this because I like audio.

Sometimes it is necessary to modify ground plug connectors. In the case of this AR XA “Hot Rod” build, we are using a Cardas Audio ground post that needs a 0.25” fork spade. I took some ring connectors, and removed what I needed to create forks, then sanded and polished down. As you can see, the connector is flush with the plug base.
