Our story began in 1953.

Grado Labs is a Brooklyn based company that hand assembles headphones and cartridges. Family run since 1953, Grado has seen three generations: Joseph, John, and Jonathan Grado. As Ars Technica says, “…on a quiet street in south Brooklyn…”, Grado assembles “…some of the most renowned headphones…it’s just the Grados in their narrow townhouse [assembling] the little-known, well-loved line of headphones.”

We serve our customers by offering a curated assortment of phono cartridges and other products that will help the novice through advanced audio lover, enjoy their system. We offer personalized service with the goal of helping you make a decision you won’t regret.

The word “Nut” in our name stands for New, Used, and Trades. We believe entertaining audio systems can be built with a mix of modern new gear that make it possible to realize the potential that some restored vintage audio was never able to reproduce when new. When possible, we will take trades in on used gear. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Pun intended.
