Audio Formats
What are you into?
One of the things I love about vintage audio are the different formats available to enjoy a variety of music. Each format has pros and cons. No format is perfect, but most people have their favorite. Motivating factors can be sound quality, cost to buy hardware, cost and availability of music . . . and cost to maintain.
Personally, I’m an equal opportunity fan of all analog formats and more recently compact disc. I know, CD’s are digital. But the technology came out almost 40 years ago, and most vintage hifi lovers I know have cd players. I’ve never really loved CDs . . . until recently discovering XRCD24 technology with the Audio Wave Blue Note Jazz Collection.
